Inspirations

There are a handful of women philosophers, many of them with avowed feminist roots, whose (largely unrecognized, even in feminist circles) work contributes to an urgent issue for normative philosophy today: taking seriously postmodern critiques of selfhood and the ambivalent effects of moral (as social) norms. I look to these figures in my effort to craft theory that can offer ethical guidance in unjust and oppressive social conditions. My present and future research seeks to examine these figures' unique contributions.
